Strengthening the Agribusiness SME Environment in Southern Nigeria: Challenges, Opportunities, and Pathways to Sustainable Entrepreneurship
Agribusiness small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are critical to employment generation, food security, and rural economic development in Nigeria. However, persistent challenges including inadequate infrastructure, limited access to finance, climate variability, and weak value-chain integration continue to constrain their growth and competitiveness. This study assessed the opportunities, constraints, and sustainable entrepreneurship pathways shaping agribusiness SMEs within the cassava value chain in Imo, Akwa Ibom, and Ogun States of Southern Nigeria.
