Green Business Strategies for Agricultural SMEs in the DRC

This report analyzes how SAICO, an agricultural company in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, can develop a practical green business model. Based on its existing beekeeping and vegetable farming activities, the report identifies key challenges such as limited branding, financing difficulties, and weak logistics. It proposes four main directions: improving resource efficiency, integrating beekeeping with farming, developing green branding, and optimizing logistics. The analysis shows that green development does not require a complete transformation. For agricultural SMEs, small and practical improvements can create both environmental and economic value.

This study presents a SWOT analysis of Olle Olsson's mining company in East Africa and proposes a green business model based on China's new environmental laws. Key strengths include access to critical minerals, while weaknesses involve funding gaps and compliance capacity. Opportunities from the African Union's green minerals strategy and threats from tightening regulations are examined. Five recommendations are offered: cleaner processing, restoration funds, tailings reuse, community benefit-sharing, and ESG financing. The study concludes that a green transition is essential for balancing profitability with ecological responsibility in the region.

Exacerbated by severe El Niño climate conditions, global food security has gained heightened international attention. Africa's immense population creates substantial demand for grain, creating both expanding market opportunities and critical logistics challenges. This report outlines key operational threats in traditional transportation and demonstrates how midstream light processing generates economic value.
