Introduction

As the second-largest continent in the world, Africa boasts vast arable land resources, rich biodiversity, and huge potential consumer market. With the deepening of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) mechanism and the active promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Africa cooperation in the agriculture and food industry has ushered in unprecedented development opportunities.

From the export of rice planting technologies to the introduction of agricultural product processing technologies, Chinese agricultural and food enterprises are gradually integrating into every link of Africa’s agricultural industrial chain. This has injected strong impetus into increasing local agricultural output and farmers’ income, ensuring food security, and boosting rural economic development in Africa.

This internship focuses on precise China-Africa enterprise matchmaking. Based on in-depth research of a versatile Congolese entrepreneur, his SAICO company and natural organic honey project, this report designs a practical cooperation plan with AAE’s resources to help African high-quality agricultural projects enter the Chinese market and integrate Chinese technology and channels with African industries.

II. Reasons for Choosing AAE Internship Program

Africa has always been a great continent with numerous resources. However, due to the lack of channels and relatively advanced technologies, the agricultural production and sales there encounter lots of practical challenges. With the advancement of globalization and modernization, Africa has begun to seek to transform its agricultural production model through technology. AAE can provide a platform for governments, chambers of commerce, enterprises and capital between China and Africa and build a complete system of project incubation, business matchmaking and mentee-mentor pairing, which would help more African entrepreneurs to form collaboration networks. From my perspective, the responsibilities of an international organization is to provide cooperation and conversation platform, diffuse differences and seek for common interests, so as to benefit more vulnerable groups and contribute to world peace. These are the reasons why I choose the AAE internship program.

III. Core Reasons for Selecting the Entrepreneur

The entrepreneur’s name is David NGONGO ILUNGA, who is active in agriculture and logistics, skilled in crop management, resource coordination and problem-solving, with strong production and supply chain capabilities. His enterprise SAICO provides efficient agricultural and commercial solutions; natural honey is 100% pure, hand-harvested and organic, matching China’s healthy consumption upgrade. The enterprise supports national delivery and is eager to explore the Chinese market, with low threshold and high feasibility for AAE incubation. IV. China-Africa Project Matchmaking Plan

Firstly, this project aims to assist with China customs quarantine and organic certification, and enter cross-border e-commerce, premium supermarkets and group-buying channels via AAE within two months. Secondly, this project will introduce Chinese intelligent beehives, standardized breeding and traceability systems to improve output and quality. Thirdly, this project will integrate the entrepreneur’s logistics advantages to cooperate with Chinese cross-border logistics companies and build a dedicated agricultural products line. Fourthly, this project will match Chinese agricultural investors and food processing partners through AAE international business matchmaking events, international commercial forums. Lastly, this project will promote the natural pure honey products on Chinese social media, such as Douyin, Rednote, Wechat public accounts and so on, so as to create a brand effect. During Double 11, we will promote the natural pure honey products through live streaming and improve its sales.

V. Conclusion

Through all-round cooperation in branding, technology, supply chain and capital, it will achieve a win-win situation for African products exports, Chinese agricultural consumption market. This project will continue to make more practical actions and promote more products based on the AAE platform, so as to contribute to the development and growth of African agricultural and food industry.
