Choosing Tasks

  • Please read brief descriptions of available tasks on the Tasks information pages. If you don’t find any relevant task, then please contact us.
  • Tasks can be performed via online mode only.
  • You must be a member of any of the volunteering groups to view tasks: Volunteer (Default Group), Intern and Service Learner.
  • Choose tasks that are relevant to your background, professional or learning aspirations. In order to express interest in a task, click the Join button on the Task Information Page of your choice. Also, contact the AAE Team for any clarifications.
  • Please report any broken links in the task pages citing the location for immediate correction.
  • Your task choices may include currently unavailable tasks (will be assigned to you when they become available), and at least one active task – for immediate assignment . If your request to join a specific task group team is approved, a detailed downloadable task guide(s) will enabled for you before you commence work and as well as ongoing guidance from the Member or AAE Team as the case may be..  
  • Task descriptions and availabilities may change, at any time, reflecting changing project needs.
  • Participants may choose the count of tasks in consideration of their current schedule, availability and active service term. {E.g, 3 task for a 3-month term}.
  • Participants are welcome to switch a task, if they find one unsuitable.

Completing Tasks

  • Participants should submit weekly task progress updates on Tuesdays.
  • The Voluntary Office desk is closed on Wednesdays: Participant may not get replies to emails on Wednesdays
  • AAE’s task supervision by objectives approach  aims to align participants performance with AAE/Member goals to improve efficiency and increase motivation.
  • Except for tasks from members, all assigned tasks directly are supervised by the AAE Global Management Team.
  • Task completion reports are expected as agreed, and should be submitted in a word format and by email. All reports MUST include the department/area name(s), date of submission and the name of the reporter. The report file should contain the full name of the reporter
  • In ensuring that report meets our standards, participants should ask an AAE Volunteer Editor to review the report draft prior to submission. All task reports should include formatted MLA-style reference list and In-text citations, ensuring that every data point and external source is clearly documented.
  • All participants commit to a minimum 11-15 hour per week schedule, completing all assignments within the selected service period. After completing a task, participants may undertake another task during their active term . If you find any assigned task unsuitable, please feel free to request a change.
  • Participants may be assigned to a supported group or project and may receive additional completion certificates from the same.
  • Volunteers/Interns who achieve outstanding performance in their tasks will be issued with Letters of Recommendation in addition to the Completion/Appreciation Certificate.
  • Please alert your supervisor during the last week of your session and submit all task completion reports so that we can Initiate the issuance of your completion letter on time.   Additionally, while not compulsory, video reports may be used as an additional proof of participation . You may post it on a social media platform and then include the link in the textual report.
  • Volunteers/Interns who are unable to complete assigned task(s) will be deemed “not completed” and may be offered an extension or restart based on sole discretion of the supervisor.
