What type of assigment would you like?
I am particularly interested in assignments involving the collection and analysis of qualitative information, such as interviews, case studies, and narrative reports. My strength lies in interpreting texts and stories to understand the cultural contexts behind the challenges and successes of African SMEs. Additionally, I am very drawn to tasks in information dissemination and content creation. I would like to help craft compelling narratives and articles that showcase the resilience and innovation of African entrepreneurs. Finally, I would also appreciate opportunities to assist in network building, as it involves understanding and fostering community relationships through communication.
What are your reason(s) for choosing these tasks(s
My academic background and future aspirations in Anthropology and Cultural Studies have instilled in me a profound interest in the intersection of economic activity and cultural context. I chose tasks related to qualitative analysis because I believe that beyond numbers, the most profound insights come from human stories and socio-cultural patterns. I want to apply the methods of ethnographic research—such as textual and narrative analysis—to understand the lived realities of entrepreneurs, something that quantitative data alone cannot fully capture. Similarly, I am passionate about communication and content creation because they are powerful tools for cultural representation. I want to contribute to shaping authentic narratives that highlight the socio-economic contributions of SMEs within their communities. These tasks provide a unique opportunity to apply an anthropological lens to real-world development work, focusing on stories and human experience rather than statistical modeling.
What are your expectations on working with AAE?
I expect to gain a deep, practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing SMEs in the African context, learning directly from AAE's expertise in sustainable development and poverty reduction. I also expect to contribute my skills in research, writing, and digital communication to support AAE's mission effectively. Ultimately, I hope this experience will provide me with invaluable insights into how international organizations operate on the ground and how economic empowerment programs can be culturally sensitive and impactful, which will be crucial for my future studies.
